@edward_w97 Yeah I think Portsmouth overpaid/we negotiated very well. I just hope we don't feel the loss of him, and more so the other big sales of the window, over the course of the season!
@panyaza8@davidwt1997 Striker, that's Matty Dennis. But the nature of our club is we always sign strikers who are good at pressuring defenders etc because of how often we'll play with a minority of possession.
@davidwt1997@burtonalbionfc I called them up David, said they'd be up in the next day or two but what a shitshow - it took multiple attempts to get through to a person
@rmg75@davidwt1997 He's not played regular first team football for six years, it's a sign of how much we've fallen that we are trying to get excited about this guy
@adam_nitz@straight_red@HLTCO Ah you've been to the Pirelli than Adam? Like someone else replying says the atmosphere is often great at small grounds, no tourists just people who love the club
@adamdrew1988 Yeah I feel similarly now. When we bought Beesley he wasn't exactly a prized asset but he leaves the club a prestigious L1 striker. Outside of the first NFG season our recruitment has been really good too that first Jan transfer window with Bowyer esp but we normally upgrade.
@borneosands Thinking about it more though I would be concerned if I was a Bradford fan. He's had a great season for us and gets on well with our manager but his career stats are not v good. I think there's a good chance it was 'right time and right place' at us and won't be replicated.
@borneosands He's great in the air and exceptional work rate but he missed some chances he should have taken and at 29 I think we are happy if we got 500k off you for him (he had a year left on his contract and an option to extend so we are hoping you paid for him).
@lmaw11_@jmwdesignss I think your mate might be wrong, he was on the radio this week talking about future and while we had a mildly disappointing season I think consensus is he's doing a good job with the budget and mess left by previous managers/current owners. I'm more worried he'll get poached.
@edward_w97 are there any Burton transfer news or rumours? I'm dying here after losing Sweeney... Tavares looks good but without us getting back Mckiernan and Dodgson it doesn't feel great
I've not been on twitter much at all for months, and it seems to have continued its slide into being a non-anonymised 4chan, here's my bluesky (an imperfect site obviously but better than this trash heap) if anyone wants to keep in touch there - https://t.co/Dllx9irWe5
@WUTangKids I wish you fuckers would stop gloating, it's also sad that these people are voting against their own interests and it's not a good look to be celebrating poor people voting themselves into an earlier grave
@BrewersView I think it's difficult to place blame as I think personally the tactic is flawed, relies on the wings and leaves us empty in the middle but my mates thought Chauke played awful and I don't think Max (while I love him) is quite up to playing out the back.
@BrewersView I don't think many agree with you. I thought he played well. We were lacking much presence in Central Mid, and I felt that was more the tactic than Watt. Ultimately we kept hoofing it long and losing it but Watt was at least hitting some of those passes, dubious about the tactics
