Yes being dumped hurts. But do you know what hurts even more? Finding out they had been thinking about leaving for weeks while you were still loving them like everything was okay. They were already having conversations in their head about ending things while you were sitting beside them, laughing with them, making plans and trusting that the relationship you were living in was still real. They knew something had changed. They knew they were getting closer to an ending. They may have already imagined their life without you and somehow, they could still looked you in the eyes and act completely normal. That’s the part that stays with you. You start replaying every conversation. Every kiss. Every “I love you.” Every ordinary moment you thought was safe. You wonder how long they had known, how long they had been pretending and whether the person you were loving in those final weeks was even emotionally there anymore. And maybe they weren’t trying to be cruel. Maybe they were confused. Maybe they were trying to process their feelings before saying something they couldn’t take back. But that doesn’t change what it feels like to discover that you were living in the present while they had already started grieving the relationship in private. Being left isn’t what breaks your heart. It’s realising they had already begun letting you go while you were still holding them with both hands.
I'm cool off dating rn, I just hate being so in love & getting real comfortable with someone then HAVE to MOVE on, love is actually terrifying these days, you don't know what's real and what's fake anymore, I'm done.
We’ve lost the art of fighting for friendships, relationships, or simply people worth fighting for. Everyone seems to be wearing their ego on their sleeves.
I won't lie, my feelings for you are still as strong as ever. But I've had to accept the painful truth that I can't have you. So I'm learning to let go, little by little.
