Yet in 50yrs, everybody who has tried to compete in that segment has left. Nobody else has made a modern high-end film camera much less a rangefinder. Insane credit where its due

BMW (M8), Lexus (LC500), Nissan (GTR), AMG (also GTR) have all died. The Lambo/Audi moved upmarket, Aston went bankrupt 7 times, McLaren still cant manage to build a reliable car, Maserati has 15yr product lifecycles

The only ones that have come close are GM with the corvette & even then as absolutely fantastic as those are they are the value option

it also very slightly helps that the sensor is ever so slightly more cropped than standard APS-C sensors &amp; so you're using more of only the good bit of the lens

Which, its interesting they advertise foveon as a APS-C equivalent when it is pretty squarely within APSC &amp; Micro 4/3

when I bought the 30/1.4 I didn't really expect to be shooting wide open as much as I did

& a lot of it is because the sensor is shit at anything except perfect light yes but I think most of the time I'm between 1.4-2.8 p much, very fun

vignetting/disortion/CA you can roughly correct in post, the only issue is sharpness which is an issue in test files but IRL you'll be focused on something surely & the DoF mitigates it a fair bit

even against a flat plane, your subject very likely isn't at the far ends
