This is about as OEM/stable/optimal of a linux system as you can get & yet I am still very constantly reminded why the year of the linux desktop will never come

Everything is just constantly the opposite of what you would expect it to be, how you would expect it to operate

Need to log into GH, open 'konsole', constantly fails to redraw. Install another terminal, better, readonly root is nice but can't install jack shit w/o disabling it, docs & chatbots tell you to use distrobox lmao

Whatever, disable it, fairs its a gaming handheld, GH requests a code, can't open the link automatically bc theres no default browser set even though chrome is explicitly installed, we love choice

I open chrome, then pull up the start menu to open another app, Chrome just periodically steals focus. Display goes to sleep bc 'presentation mode' just decided to stop working randomly. Session restore as far as I can tell is like 70% broken.

& every single default application likewise is so stupidly unintuitive & unergonomic. Not unusable just terribly annoying & cumbersome

Most of these 'ports' are done through ReXGlue, which is derived from Xenia, you get perf benefits from AoT compilation of course, but there is still significant overhead

Now w/ light effort & modern opus's help, you can write an acceptable native renderer etc. for most games & bridge the gap quite significantly, but the quality of other ppl's ports isn't immediately obvious
