Heritage Minister Marc Miller is ordering the CRTC to review its decision to make streaming giants pay 15% into a CanCon fund. "At a time when Canadians face cost-of-living pressure, now is not the time to make culture and entertainment more expensive."

@AlexLawsonOtt Alex, let's reframe this in terms you'll understand.
let's say you had $10 million to bring toilets to an illegal riot occupying downtown.
would you buy 1,200 quality units that would endure repeated daily use long-term, or 10,000 single use buckets from Home Depot?
Bikes are back on board! 🚲🚆
You can now bring your bike on certain trains between Ottawa and Québec City for $25 per direction.

cute! on the eve of International Flight Attendant Day, the Minister of Union-Busting made sure to grab some pics with her bestie, Air Canada’s VP of labour relations Mike Abbott.
Pretty huge news out of Victoria with workers reaching a collective agreement with Uber with potentially large national implications.
Enormous credit to the workers for taking on the risk to make this happen and to @UFCWCanada for continuing to push the organizing envelope.
@BotheredBoy raised property taxes, froze TTC fares, uploaded the DVP and Gardiner, school food programs, longer hours for pools/libraries, anti-renoviction supports, etc etc etc... in 3/4 of the term other mayors would have had
1) the mayor should be using his position to end youth homelessness through policy not charity
2) how many of his anonymous (to us) donors expect a return on their investment in this reputational laundering exercise after the next election?
I’m incredibly grateful for the support of our community. Together, we raised more than $117,000 for the End Youth Homelessness in Ottawa by 2030 Fund.
Thank you to everyone who contributed, cheered on, and joined me across the finish line this morning, including our youth. It was an incredible moment.
@Alex_S_Cullen also I am certain that more than a few of those anonymous (to us) donors will be seeking a return on their investment in the mayor’s reputation washing
Last night I flew on an @AirCanada flight #AC779 from Montreal to LAX and I watched a medical emergency happen on the plane. I was so impressed with the level of attentiveness and quick action from the crew that I just want to highlight the level of professionalism and consideration they had for the passenger.
The medical situation was resolved on the flight and everyone left ok 🙏
Good for you @AirCanada!
Listen to the dogwhistles:
When Carney and his ministers say "we need to keep up with the times" they mean that workers must be crushed to deliver value to his American billionaire buddies as they look to buy up Canadian airports, ports, and resources
Workers with rights are a barrier to Carney selling us out
so the three main choices are:
❌ guy who defended the convoy (and has been a disaster as mayor)
✅ experienced councilor and public servant
❌ guy who delivered toilets for the convoy
