He then used our tax dollars to make his wife, Diana Fox Carney, Canada’s first “Ocean Envoy.”

Mark Carney then announced $1.2 billion in federal funding for “broader Canadian ocean protections” on September 29, 2026. In practice, money to build a system to put carbon credits on ships coming into Canadian waters.

This is why Greenland mattered to Trump.
Ensuring ships can use the new shipping lane free of charge under America, instead of being taxed by Canada.
