Global North gov’ts owe the Global South $192 trillion for exceeding their fair share of emissions, says a 2023 study. This amounts to $6.85 trillion a year. 💰 Global North govt’s must #PayUp trillions for the climate debt they owe us ✊🏽 https://t.co/RNALwFyxlp
The climate debt includes payment for loss and damage, which is estimated to cost at least $447-894 billion per year by 2030. 💸 Global North gov'ts must #PayUp trillions in climate finance, as part of reparations for the climate crisis! ✊🏽

The Global North has a moral obligation to pay the climate debt they’ve incurred as the largest historical emitters of greenhouse gasses 🌏🔥Their attempts to shift the blame to developing countries won’t work anymore: we demand that they #PayUp trillions for #ClimateFinanceNow💸
The US is the largest historical emitter of greenhouse gasses but consistently refuses to take responsibility for the climate crisis 🌏🔥 It’s time for the US and the rest of the Global North to #PayUp and deliver $5 trillion/year for their climate debt! 💰
The message is loud and clear the climate crisis is a water crisis. By 2030 the demand will outstrip supply by 40% 💧

Policies should address both the supply AND demand side.
We have learned to reduce electricity demand whenever we are on yellow and red alert with our power supply. We should do the same for water.
Will we have another water crisis with the onset of El Niño in July?
So far, water levels in the main reservoirs are steady but less rain and higher temperature during the wet season may significantly affect the water supply for Metro Manila, particularly for next year.
