We need some Church Minimalism.
Lets pare back all the excess and pomp-n-circumstance to recover the simple beauty of people gathered around a table seeking to follow Jesus together.
Scripture is not to be read simply to locate ourselves in the story of God, but to make ourselves lovingly aware of others, locating *them* in the unique pains and challenges of life.
Never before have we had so much while feeling we have so little. 'Progress' cannot be only economic, material, and technological, though it must include that. It must also be communal, moral, and spiritual.
