Rob Spencer definitely rings a bell as do you Rich.
I also remember the lad whose place I temporarily stole from behind the stumps. Young, amiable chap who I was extremely jealous of driving around in a white XR3i at his age. He’ll be in his early 50s now
Here’s a photo of what I looked like back then (circled in red). The other 2 lads, Jamie Carnegie and Neil Gibson (circled in blue) also played that year in the 2nds and 3rds
Bit of nostalgia. Spent a year playing for Tickhill whilst based at Finningley. Anybody from @TickhillCClub remember me (1st XI wicketkeeper), names I vaguely remember are Paul Singleton, Rob Egan and the skipper might have been called Spencer?

@Carlo2Taylor Great theory but my recollection differs. 50 overs in the field, chasing a target of around 360 and then being skittled for about 46.
Result = 3 hours wasted bar time
Didn’t help my mood when half the team didn’t turn up for the first 5 overs because they’d either gone to KFC or visiting friends who lived round the corner. Obviously they noticed we were depleted and put us in the field. You’d have probably elected to bowl anyway Carl 😉
Ball hadn’t even reached my hands when he decided to retrieve it Teddy, you don’t get away with that level of disrespect on my watch.
Besides he was as plumb LBW as I’ve ever seen in his 1st over but the umpire bottled it because he was a pro and it was Crompton so…..shed ☝️
@shawyofshaw Going back for your bat without asking is just a schoolboy error when Shawy is about. You’d not come to watch him bat all day had you Dave 🤣🤣🤣
@englandcricket It’s not a stumping as the keeper is stood back. If the player plays a shot which goes to the keeper and it takes him out of his crease, the keeper can throw at the stumps. It’s not in the spirit of the game if he’s ducked and marks his crease to tend to the wicket.
@leeiams@paul_winginit Is there any confirmation of the new rules yet? All I’ve found so far is speculation of what it might be, but it definite seems that something will change
without doubt the worst service by any company I’ve ever had the misfortune of purchasing through. No delivery, no response to online chat or support emails and failure to answer the telephone all day long. Well played @flowardCo
@Carlo2Taylor@flowardCo Haha, lucky I had a Michael Kors backup plan. They’ve replied already and are apparently going to try and deliver tonight. Considering it’s nearly midnight I’ll be impressed with that 🤔
