starting April’s @GirlyBookClub read. it’s a bit of a (... wait for it...) departure from February’s “American War”(i skipped March). will be the perfect book for the ✈️ this coming weekend.

@alexbakus that’s got to be at least some of the reasoning at play. i just can’t imagine feeling *that* responsible for someone’s life, even if they were my kid.
like my dad achieved basically the same thing through questions like “how are your grades”? “why is that 98 not 100”? a couple of times a year. he didn’t even have to turn the TV off. cheap, easy, didn’t take long.
