I don’t feel like enough people are talking about the fact that a New Haven charter school decided to fire a quarter of their teaching staff just a few months after they formed a union — and now the students have been on strike, hosting town halls, and staging sit-ins for 5 days.
You aren’t a victim.
You aren’t nursing the wound.
The wound is that severe.
Rest.
I am your confirmation.
Continue to do the work. It is working... even when it feels hard.
I love you 💜💫
Oh!
And please remove people who are highly critical of that process.
If they need you to be “ON” to feel whole... they need to begin their own healing process.
When those moments come, please listen to your body and rest. Don’t mask. Don’t avoid.
Surrender to the recovery... it does not cancel your brilliance.
It is important that you realize you are still in recovery. I know you aren’t trying to hurt anyone. I know it. Apologize if your actions have done so.. but please hear me:
You are still in recovery.
This may present itself as anxiety, depressed days, lack of energy, unexplained sadness, fits of rage, ect.
This message is not for people who wish to take advantage of others with their struggle, but for those who work consistently at healing the effects of that story.
Therapy has me on my back today.
Yes; therapist have therapist. I think it’s the safest way to lead. We all need accountability. I just wanted to write this and then log out to continue my own processing: You are not being dramatic.
You are not too sensitive.
