I spoke to the GA SOS’s office and they said the problem last year was that the increase in boxes/absentee ballots (way more than expected) led to an increase in collection errors. Totally understandable. I do still support working to correct known issues

@phikapradar @Banshi131 @kacky2007 @edokeefe @MLB I don’t agree with chunks of the law but limiting drop boxes to early voting locations, I’m on board with. At least one box in Fulton had ballots go missing (mine included) so they needed to fix drop box mgt although there are definitely other, probably better, solutions.

@carpentertrey14 @Purrcy4 You clearly underestimate how much ppl hate EOs and how few know what happens on the floor. Most assume legislation is debated rather than paid for. It’s seen as legitimate. If ppl hate a law they don’t blame just the president. If ppl hate an EO, there is nobody else to blame

@Purrcy4 Not only that but doing this by EO may alienate those of his voters who spent years/decades putting off buying a home or starting a family in order to pay off student debt. Passing via legislation at least shows it was thought through and subject to good faith debate.

Your point is nonetheless correct. We have had Jewish and African American representatives in the house but not the senate until now.

We currently have sons (and daughters) of Jewish immigrants in the Senate and have had a catholic president. I personally think evaluating people by protective class is reductive because it diminishes the importance of actual accomplishments.
