@heatherjstewart@bestpicturecast DIiCaprio is the only actor in the history of cinema that gives me the heebie jeebies. ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ he's only 4-5 years older than me, so it's been weird "growing up" with him. At one point I was his target audience (teen heartthrob era) and now as a decrepit old lady...well. you get it.
@heatherjstewart@bestpicturecast Yeah, I have a very strong aversion to DiCaprio, and I can't quite explain it. I don't think he's a bad actor, but I do think he is overrated, and the era of "The Beach" and "Romeo + Juliet" is his absolute worst. It also coincides with his teen heartthrob era. ๐คข
@bestpicturecast We had to watch this movie during 9th grade in order to raise our awareness surrounding teenage depression, etc. However, that was 30 years ago. Do you think it should still be required viewing in high school? Or would it be considered too "triggering" for today's teenagers?
BONUS EPISODE OUT NOW! It falls on our timeline, so we are covering FRANKENSTEIN! AFI ranks this 1931 film as the 87th Greatest Movie of All Time. What do you think?

@bestpicturecast I despise Scarlett O'Hara, and it's because Vivian Leigh did such an impeccable job in the role. I prefer Leigh in Streetcar, but I suppose Blanche is really just middle-aged Scarlett?
@bestpicturecast@FritzandOscars Frank Borzage won ovet King Vidor in the 1st Awards, & he wins over Vidor in the 5th (Bad Girl over The Champ). Borzage created a masterpiece with Seventh Heaven, and he will always be my choice. I love The Crowd too, but Borzage created visuals that will stay with me forever.
