#39canimals It's a little late but check out my infographic on the African Painted Dog! (Make sure to click on the image to see the entire infographic)
If you care about the Florida panther, I encourage you to use Twitter as an advocacy tool! Twitter can be used to change the way people think. The most effective way to advocate for the panther is to convince your follows that panthers deserve our respect and empathy. #39canimals
This quarter, I researched animal empathy. The idea that dogs are able to empathize with other organisms is evidence that they recognize the pain that they and their peers go through when subjected to things like animal testing and horrible living conditions. #39canimals
#39canimals There are different levels of plant based diet. The easiest is pesco-vegetarian, a type where you can still enjoy fish and shrimp. This, combined with a whole-food diet can greatly improve your health.
Fact of the day: The Animal Welfare Act (AWA), is a federal law that addresses the standard of care animals receive at research facilities. #39canimals
Writing 60 has helped me refine my research skills and has exposed me to the world of animal advocacy. Grateful for my journey in this class. #39canimals

"The main objective of the Farm System Reform Act is to suspend the creation and continuation of CAFOs by limiting their expansions, transitioning their properties to be used for new agricultural purposes, and calling for the shutdown of all CAFOs by 2040"

"The Industrial Agriculture Accountability Act lists new requirements for large farms like CAFOs. The bill asks that industrial farms create emergency plans and register them with the Office of High-Risk AFO Disaster Mitigation and Enforcement"

Twitter is a great way to spread awareness about issues in today's society. The new culture does not rely on news and papers to get reliable news - they trust other people like them posting online. Many of the tweets I made gained a lot of traction.

The logic of the human species is one-sided, hypocritical, and leads to destruction for many beings. Humans need to practice humanity and take a look at the practices normalized in our society, especially those regarding other animals lives.

The research process is intensive and time-consuming. Check out my research on pigs where I advocated against pig abuse in factory farming! Here's my research portfolio: https://t.co/rWN1V1v1Uo

Making websites is very hard, and I have a lot of respect for people who code and do website design as a career. I used Wix in my 39C course, which I struggled with despite it being made for beginners. I am getting better though!
#WhatIlearnedin39C
I learned that pigs are social animals who experience empathy, emotional contagion, and personality changes. They use social interactions to cope with stressful situations.
"United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) regulates animal welfare, mainly through the Animal Welfare Act. The AWA excludes farm animals, which allows for controversial practices such as gestation crates, mutilations, and careless slaughter methods (Ali 88)."
