My dad always wished he hyphenated my last name. It was the 90s and he didn't know that was an option.

I will hyphenate my future child's surname. I think it is a great way to honor both sides of the family.

@jebarne @fiercepatricks That's a correlation, not a causation. I would say 1). less straight couples marry due to high divorce rates, 2). being unmarried is not as socially stigmatized as it was prior, and 3) the increase in atheism made people feel more comfortable with unmarried co-habitation.

My issue is struggling to pronounce words I know. I was homeschooled and I mainly read all day. Imagine growing up and rarely hearing half of the words in your vocabulary.
