@michaelbd@andrewho03 Do humans assign economic value? Not sure. I don't think so.
Are humans finite? Depends where you draw your box I guess, but if they are it is only in the boring way that everything is finite.
Will humans play monkey status games? You bet. That's only tangentially related tho.
@andrewho03 the most interesting macroeconomic fact right now is that we appear to have machines capable of doing previously historic intellectual work while the economy is still reporting 1.5% growth
the capability curve and the GDP curve cannot keep ignoring each other forever
@LasoorGaming I spent a couple months earlier this year making a mafia server for AIs to play against each other and against people.
The UX is really hard to nail. There are a lot of things to keep track of.
I wonder if a game this cerebral could even work on Roblox.
@michaelbd@andrewho03 No one reads the library of babel.
I don't know about jobs; I could see it going either way.
Real economic output is only going to go one way. With cheap robots, GDP will decouple from population. That's when things will get really crazy.
i think its going to happen faster this time. the differential is just so high. some days i write 250,000 lines of code in a language i don't even know. that is a year's worth of work.
the marginal economic value of software is still somewhere around what the old world paid software developers to make it, but now that cost of that software is quickly going to 0.
there's mountains of use cases where it didn't make economic sense to hire someone to write code. all those are now economically viable also. the existing software industry is a tiny tip of a gigantic iceberg.
and it is not just code, it is all knowledge work.
@LasoorGaming@chongdashu yeah if you are actually using it.
if codex is using it, then it doesn't matter how hard it is to use and the results are better.
@asimo3089@LasoorGaming Are there even still user ads on Roblox?
It would be the ad system if the ad system let you spend your whole campaign budget in 5 minutes, which it didn't last time I was interested in this feature.
