Two important considerations drove us to establish a No-LPG kitchen as early as 2009—an approach that appears even more relevant today, especially during periods of oil crisis.
The first was how to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and move towards renewable sources of energy.
The second was how to reduce our dependence on other countries for our energy needs.

I am proud to say that today our mega kitchens save nearly 120 LPG cylinders every single day. Even more satisfying is the fact that the fuel we use at @adamya_chetana is generated from waste materials.

When I proposed celebrating Swami Vivekananda Jayanti by painting all 17 grand old hostels of @iiest_s with student participation, Some laughed, some said “This is Kolkata, not Bengaluru.”; others said today’s youth would not come forward to do this.

Our students proved them wrong.

These are among the brightest young minds of the nation—admitted through JEE and GATE—leading by example with dignity, responsibility, and pride in their campus.

Adamya Chetana is sending 12,000 stainless-steel plates to the Udupi Paryaya Mahotsava, replacing disposables through the Ananth Plate Bank and preventing truckloads of waste from reaching landfills.

The 12th Convocation of IIEST Shibpur, Kolkata, the 170-year-old Bengal Engineering Institute, was a truly memorable occasion.
My sincere thanks to Padma Vibhushan Dr. V. K. Saraswat for inspiring and addressing the young graduates.
The convocation, in its truest sense, was a celebration—a confluence of tradition and aspiration, a true Ghatikotsava.
A key takeaway from the event was our collective commitment to respecting Mother Earth, reflected in organising the convocation as a zero-waste event, with the use of reusable cutlery.

Remembering – June 25, 1975, (Black Day for Bharath)
On this day, then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi declared a National Emergency under Article 352, marking one of the darkest chapters in India’s democratic history.

Fundamental rights were suspended, press freedom was crushed, and even basic civil liberties like walking in a group of three or more were banned.

Our Brave leaders like Jayaprakash Narayanji, Morarji Desaiji, and our brave @BJP4India leaders Atal Bihari Vajpayeeji, L.K. Advaniji, George Fernandesji, Charan Singhji, and Ananthkumarji were jailed for conducting peaceful protests.

I feel especially proud that Appa, Ananthkumar Ji, joined the @ABVPVoice at just 16 years old and fearlessly protested against the Emergency with the encouragment and support and of his brave mother smt. Girija Shastry.

His courage and commitment to democracy remain an inspiration.

A video from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar (formerly Aurangabad) is winning hearts across India, capturing the beautiful bond between a 93-year-old man and his wife.

The elderly couple walked into the shop hand-in-hand and began browsing through the mangalsutra collection. After carefully choosing one, the shopkeeper politely asked how much money they had. The woman pulled out Rs 1,120 in cash. With a gentle smile, the shopkeeper joked, "So much money?" Mistaking this for a sign that it wasn't enough, the elderly man quickly reached into his bag and brought out two bundles of coins, ready to pay the balance.

However, in a heartwarming turn, the shopkeeper refused to accept the full payment. Deeply moved by their love and modesty, he told the couple he would charge just Rs 20 - Rs 10 from each of them - as a tribute to their lifelong commitment. The couple was overwhelmed, and the emotional moment left even the staff teary-eyed.
