@JoannaCannon all her novels work as standalones, and I read her Dublin Murder Squad out of order. It was later I realized there is an order and it creates a deeper understanding. She takes one character from the novel and they become the main character in next novel.
@emmahoneybone For a few years on the anniversary, I wrote a letter to my mom, still trying to address things between us that were unresolved. It helped.
@AMaskley Sometimes I know immediately it's not for me. But I have dropped books as late as halfway, when I realize I have zero investment in the characters. Have definitely DNF'd alot of very popular titles.
@LucyHunterB Find some picture hanging wire, wrap a few times around each post, leave at least a few inches between each earring. Could then hang up in closet or around dressing mirror if you have, or string around xmas tree if you celebrate.
@JaymetheRN My sister had terminal cancer and it was too advanced for chemo. I called her oncologist to get pain meds and the nurse said I'd have to call someone else, as the oncologist "didn't believe in pain meds."
@BexBookaholic Def one of the very best of my recent reads. Found myself absolutely savouring it. Got up and walked away from it a few times just to make it last longer.
