This is a conversation we don’t have enough. Predators don’t always look like monsters, they often look like “nice” people. That’s exactly how they operate.

Here are the signs to watch out for:
🔴 GROOMING TACTICS
— They shower you with excessive attention, gifts or money or offer assistance under the guise of helping
— They try to isolate you from friends and family
— They push physical boundaries slowly, testing your limits
— They create secrecy: “This is just between us”
— They use guilt, shame, or threats to maintain control

🔴 ONLINE PREDATORS
— They ask personal questions early: where you live, your school, your routine, how short is your skirt, is it tight enough?
— They move conversations to private/encrypted platforms quickly like WhatsApp etc
— They send inappropriate content and normalize it
— They request photos or videos and voice notes

🔴 WHO IS MOST AT RISK?
— Children and teenagers
— People who are emotionally vulnerable or lonely
— Vulnerable people in need of a job or help
— People with low self-esteem or troubled home situations

🔴 HOW TO PROTECT YOURSELF & YOUR LOVED ONES
— Educate children early about body boundaries and consent
— Monitor online activity without being invasive, have open conversations instead
— Teach children that NO adult should ask them to keep secrets from their parents
— Trust your instincts, if something feels wrong, it probably is
— Report suspicious behaviour immediately to authorities
— Believe victims when they speak up!!!

— Speak up. Silence protects the predator, not the victim!
— Document everything
— Report to law enforcement
— Seek professional counselling and support
