@abbaaliyu_@CSCSNigeria@TheREANigeria Thank you, Dr. Aliyu, for the thoughtful engagement and the kind words. It was a pleasure exchanging perspectives on how strong market infrastructure can support scalable, sustainable solutions. I look forward to deepening collaboration as we translate shared ideas into impact.
Friday’s meeting with the MD and leadership of the Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) was one of those conversations that reminds you how important strong market infrastructure is to scaling impact.
On a personal note, this meeting meant a bit more to me. Mr. Shehu Yahaya Shantali and I have known each other for close to 20 years, and it’s been inspiring to watch his journey and consistency over time. I congratulated him on his recent appointment, and I genuinely believe a great match has been made with this choice. His depth, integrity, and understanding of the market are exactly what CSCS needs at this moment.
CSCS sits at the heart of Nigeria’s post-trade ecosystem, providing a single, trusted access point across equities, bonds, treasury bills, commodities, funds, and cash. Bringing that depth of capital market expertise into conversation with REA opens up very real possibilities for how we finance, structure, and scale energy access.
We discussed practical collaboration, entering the capital market together, clearly defining deliverables and timelines, and ensuring that whatever we build is seamless, credible, and investor ready. I also shared our openness to having CSCS join our solarisation committee alongside partners like the Budget Office, InfraCorp, and the Ministry of Finance, because coordination matters.
An especially exciting part of the discussion was around carbon credits and how they can unlock additional economic value from renewable energy projects, creating new revenue streams while deepening sustainability outcomes.
We’re working towards signing an MoU soon, and I’m encouraged by the shared clarity and readiness on both sides. This is how institutions come together to move ideas from conversation to execution.
