🚨Cristiano Ronaldo responds to people telling Roberto Martínez to sub him off after Portugal’s shocking 1-1 draw with DR Congo in their 2026 FIFA World Cup opener:
🗣️ “I’ve heard the noise. I’ve seen people saying I should have been substituted, people saying I shouldn’t be starting, people saying I’m the problem. That’s football. When Portugal wins, we win together. When Portugal doesn’t win, suddenly everybody wants to point at one player. I have lived with that for most of my career, so it doesn’t bother me anymore.
What matters is the team. We didn’t get the result we wanted tonight, and every player on that pitch has to take responsibility for that. Not just me, all of us. I am the captain of this team. My job is not only to score goals. My job is to lead, fight, and help this group stay united when things become difficult.
People are free to have opinions, but opinions do not decide matches. Performances do. I promise you this team will respond. The World Cup is not won in the first game. I have played in enough tournaments to know that. The important thing now is how we react.
I will never stop fighting for Portugal. Not because it is easy, but because representing this country means everything to me. The criticism can continue. The work will continue too.”

🗣️ Zinedine Zidane on Cristiano Ronaldo:
“First, congratulations to Messi for his performance and hat trick. At 39 years old, what he is doing is incredible, but today I want to speak about Cristiano Ronaldo.
Today is Ronaldo’s day. Whenever he plays, football wins because we are watching one of the greatest players in history. People talk about his age, but his ambition, mentality, and desire to win remain exactly the same.
Portugal have a fantastic squad. Their midfield is full of quality—Bruno Fernandes, Vitinha, João Neves, and Bernardo Silva can compete with any midfield in the world. Technically, they are outstanding players.
However, sometimes I feel Ronaldo does not receive the same support that Messi receives with Argentina. Argentina understand how to maximize Messi’s strengths and help him influence the game. Portugal have the quality to do the same for Ronaldo.
Cristiano has spent nearly twenty years giving everything to his country. He has scored goals, broken records, won trophies, and carried Portugal through some of their greatest moments. If this is one of his final chances to achieve something special again with Portugal, then everyone around him should be helping make that dream a reality.
What makes Ronaldo special is not only his talent but his mentality. He never stops believing, never stops competing, and never stops fighting for victory.
That is why today I will be watching Cristiano Ronaldo. Not because he has something left to prove, but because legends deserve to be appreciated while they are still playing.” 🇵🇹🐐
Passion and purpose are not the same thing. Passion brings you joy. Purpose brings you meaning. Passion gets you out of bed in the morning, but purpose allows you to sleep at night.

The most healing thing for a neurodivergent person isn’t sleep or a hot shower or a good meal. It’s a long stretch of time where nobody needs anything from them at all.
Committing to play D3 isn’t “settling”, it’s a significant achievement of commitment, focus and hard work especially when 7% or less of HS players go onto college.

Lots of parents struggle when their kid’s sports career ends because for years it was a huge part of their life. The games, travel, friendships & routines… then one day it stops and life gets real quiet. Some friendships last, some fade. Most aren’t ready for that part.
