@emkenobi Add in his being snubbed for a council’s seat and never seeming to have a voice that mattered… Well. I think he still would have turned but he’d be far more unpredictable. Not that Vader is predictable, but at full strength? He’d like usurp Palpatine and Padme’d be in charge.

@emkenobi He likely would have gone through with it anyway BUT Skywalker would be much harder to keep under control. Don’t forget everything that led up to his decision - betrayed by Obi Wan, the loss of Ashoka, dealing with the constant hypocrisy - just being more soldier than Jedi.
