@LibrarianLuca Common issues and solutions/contacts! I.e. Our public toilets need snaked in the spring, almost every year, we can avoid chaos if we call someone in when the bowl starts to bubble. Staff didn’t tell me until it was too late my first year!
@hulkbrarian We say online catalogue but our patrons often link it to their online account 🤔 I second online library search, that seems more relatable to Google (as my patrons always refer the internet as lol)
@JaelRichardson 16° for sleeping or when we’re at work (smart thermometers are so handy for this!) and anywhere between 19.5-21° while we’re home. My mum always kept the temp steady a 20° growing up.
If I hear one more time that my infertility issues are because I got vaccinated I’m going to jump off a cliff. The amount of misinformation within my own family is too much for me to handle.
"I want to thank the Academy for not being mortally offended by the words women and talking being so close together like that." —Sarah Polley, Best Adapted Screenplay Academy Award winner. #Oscars
@candietanaka In an apartment building, I don’t think unusual! When I lived in a high res in uni I had a wonky schedule so I’d take it out at odd times. Curbside garbage seems less likely, but I guess shift workers do what works for them??
@oliviastowell Thrift stores in rich neighbourhoods, no matter how many buses I had to take! I still struggle with this and I finished my masters 3 years ago. I go in with a style in mind (usually from a character in a movie, ha!) and will go to multiple thrift stores if I have to 🤷🏼♀️
@ReadingDanger We count this type of a thing as an outreach stat 🤷🏼♀️ and would probably pay mileage if it was far, but I’m in a small town where we can walk to daycares within 5-10mins!
@ianhanomansing Kinda both… I weigh myself in kg but measure my height in feet (unless I’m renewing my license, then I Google my height in metres before I get to the counter!)
@JeremyTLJ Sounds like an awesome class, I hope it shapes out as what you want it to be! I was introduced to digital humanities through a Blake study, but I can’t remember anything we looked at 😅
@JeremyTLJ Not sure if this is what you’re going for, but I’ve heard of « Dial » by Fan and Montfort as a form of ePoetry/coding poetry! Kinda fun to just watch, honestly. Maybe those story generators? Calgary Public Library has one!
FYI: educational workers are not just EAs… this collective agreement includes administrative assistants (secretaries). Everyone who works in a school is responsible for making it run effectively for all students, from janitors to principals. They all deserve a fair salary!
So proud of my mum @jennyleemomo for striking for a living wage. Without her, students wouldn’t have their marks in OUAC in time for universities to consider (and it’s a lot of OT for all the students). Int’l students wouldn’t have their registration complete for courses.
