In the U.S for sure. The regulatory environment and anti capitalism hatred by the government doesn’t support entrepreneurship in France and greater EU.
That’s not what I’m arguing though lol, irony is I agree with the problem that people are trying to convince me of. I’m just saying FR and greater Europe have a lot of special things and doing everything like American maxx capitalists do imo isnt the end all answer

@AndrewStarts Totally right. That’s why I don’t like speaking about Europe broadly, you’ll see in my other posts that I say the same and only speak from a French pov because its so different

It can and should, and it starts with removing anti growth, anti entrepreneurial regulations at the EU and country levels. I agree with you.

There’s a lot to love about France where you still have plenty of small artisanal businesses, S+ tier craftsmen, incredible quality of agriculture & meat, versus the “private equitization” and profit seeking of max capitalism in the U.S.

It’s why we see prices continue to rise yet quality continues to diminish in the USA in particular.

I can’t speak for every European country since every culture and people are different, but generally it can and should be both!

PS I’m not a tourist and when I have children they will be European so this is my home as it is yours and I’ve speak from seeing all three sides - china, america, Europe / FR, having lived substantially in every country with ties in all of them linked to family and work.

I’m personally investing substantially and helping entrepreneurs here and putting my money where my mouth is too in order to help make it happen 🙂

I mean part of the culture of France is we don’t talk about work outside of work as a show of politeness, and we take interest in people beyond their day job. It’s quite nice and simply part of the culture identity. I think Americans sometimes have their full identity be about their job and it’s all that is talked about which is also the cultural identity of Americans. Pros and cons to both lol

I see the decline it’s obvious. But there’s a lot of special things too that Americans can be envious of which go beyond economic prosperity. One of those things is just having a damn espresso with beautiful architecture, cities, landscapes and people without laptops everywhere 😂

In certain European countries for sure, the greeter Eastern Europe minus Poland is the same except most can’t flee like the Portuguese to other countries

But in general Western Europe’s average quality of life is great for now. No one is super rich and no one is super poor.

I don’t fetishize euromaxxing, my parents fled China to America with nothing and I became top .01% of Americans

I just think Europe does certain things very well and the next NVIDIA not being created because laptops at cafes in Europe is a stretch. NVIDIA won’t be created because the EU hates entrepreneurs.

@JeffNylen @levelsio No, it’s just taking up a lot of space when it’s nice for cafes to be a place where people talk to each other in real life and aren’t working. It’s an ambiance thing and secondly profitability thing.

As do I, owning substantial prime real estate in France, speaking French fluently, and also an American citizen.

As much as I like to bash on Europe for anti capitalism, there’s a lot that Europe does well which America doesn’t. One of those major things is the quality of life that Europe beats USA on average any day of the week.
