Sheila

From Quebec forest dweller to Ontario urban.
Big picture thinker.
Failed 1-term Con MP Rick Perkins called me a 'never was'!
:-)

LOL! My Conservative MP @mferreriptbokaw, less than a month after Harper was trounced: "I feel like Justin Trudeau is Canada's JFK"
#Ptbo #cdnpoli

[MaryBrighton 🇨🇦 🍁 @MaryBrighton_bu]

@mferreriptbokaw When did you start hating liberals so much? You have many posts saying how much you admire him and that the liberal party makes you proud.

[Sheila @shelearn]

@TheJasonPugh @PierrePoilievre They waste so much time. All for clips.

[Bruce Anderson @bruceanderson]

Unless turnout rates end up quite a bit higher on these questions, people will debate how much of a mandate was conferred on the provincial government on questions 1-9.

eg 600,000 votes = 19% of 3.1 Million eligible voters

[Sheila @shelearn]

Stay in school, Canada! ♥️

[Rasmus Jarlov @RasmusJarlov]

🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦 Congratulations, Canada 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦

The intellectual border wall held firm and even in the most MAGA-infested Canadian province, only 23 % voted for independence.

That nonsense is now dead and buried.

Congrats from your sane neighbour 🇩🇰

[Christi 🇨🇦 @misschristijo]

Seeing a lot of “1 in 4 Albertans” and “25% of Albertans” in separation messaging today

Misleading

It’s 25% of those who voted

It’s less than 9%

Also congratulations Albertans for choosing Canada 🇨🇦

[Cheri DiNovo @CheriDiNovo]

The Ontario Conservatives have given us an explosion of homelessness, crumbling schools, hospital deficits, no housing, no jobs….

Do we really want a Conservative Brad Bradford as Mayor?

[Rod Mickleburgh @rodmickleburgh]

The other referendum questions are a disgrace…stacked questions designed to scapegoat immigrants by the wealthiest province in Canada #AlbertaReferendum

[David Frum @davidfrum]

Rejection of Alberta separatism was Trump's first midterm defeat

[Regina Bauer 🇪🇪🇺🇦 @petite_michelle]

Guys, we have a strong Starlink competitor from a reliable country.

From Graydon Smith

Unfortunately, I have had to close my Bracebridge office today following threatening and hostile behaviour directed at a staff member who was working alone.
A constituent came to the office and loudly berated her over his opposition to our government’s bike lane policy in Toronto. He told this young woman that she was “going to die” as a result of climate change and said he would be “happy" if people get struck and killed by cars.
This behaviour is appalling and inexcusable. Disagreement with government policy is part of democracy. Threatening and intimidating staff is not.
My staff work hard to help people across our community. They deserve to feel safe at work, and I will not tolerate anyone treating them this way. The OPP have been notified and a police report has been filed.
I hope to reopen the office tomorrow. Thank you for your understanding.

[Sheila @shelearn]

@JamesDolloeb And I'm saying Ferreri got us less money b/c she did not advocate for us or build relationships, too intent on maligning. As was widely reported, PP forbade his MPs from working across the aisle or for helping with housing money applications. Its not as simple as you suggest.

[Sheila @shelearn]

As a federally elected official, how do you attract desperately needed public & private investment to your city of 100,000?
Do you highlight, like our former MP Michelle Ferreri, what is wrong?
Or do you highlight, like our current MP Emma Harrison, what is possible?
A 🧵

[Sheila @shelearn]

@JamesDolloeb Rewarding those who work for it, at all levels of society and government. The tax dollars have to go somewhere and it sure as heck can come here after Ferreri's 4 year drought!

[Sheila @shelearn]

In 18 months, she’s secured $230 million in Federal investments for business, infrastructure, youth & First Nations. She hasn’t done anything? We should be thanking her for stepping up, for being such a quick learner & applauding her for her advocacy & commitment to this Riding!

[Sheila @shelearn]

Focused on the possible, MP Harrison has hosted Ministers, 40+ Ontario Federal Liberal Caucus MPs for a 3-day retreat, Diana Fox-Carney & Gov House Leader Steven McKinnon, touring them all thru our Riding advocating strongly for our vibrancy & innovation in business & community.

Anonymous assesses that the far-left riots in France are occurring with cooperation from Russian intelligence.

Getting Le Pen into office is Putin's prime concern right now for paralyzing the EU.

[Garry Kasparov @Kasparov63]

And if you believe that, I have nice towers in Paris and Pisa to sell you! Russia’s destabilization agenda reaches from pushing immigrants to Europe to sponsoring far left and far right political groups and violent agitators. You never have to dig deep to find the Russian money.
