Holy Saturday was filled with disorientation.
What happened?
How did that happen?
We never expected it.
What about our hopes?
What about the future?
What now?
Sound familiar?
We know renewal is coming —but the grief, mourning and suffering of today is real.
Sup Dogs will be closed for 2 weeks starting Monday. Really tough business decision, but I don’t think it’s right for us to continue to jam huge crowds into our business, every single day. Stay safe and healthy! Can’t wait for things to get back to normal♥️ -Bret
This culture’s training us to be fragile. To be sure, there are things worthy of offense, worthy of calling out, but we’re being shaped societally to be wounded, hurt and offended constantly. This is antithetical to the commission of Christ. We’re called to be strong in the Lord.
There’s a season for everything.
Seasons change.
Don’t get stuck in a season you’re no longer in.
Don’t try to go back to a season that’s changed.
Don’t try to prolong a season that’s ended.
There’s no grace for what’s no longer there.
There’s grace for this season.
Believe God.
When it’s hard, ask Jesus to help your unbelief — I do this a lot.
Immediately the father of the boy cried out, "I do believe; help my unbelief!" - (Mark 9:24)
Don’t allow the silence of one to paralyze you. We all have someone from whom we would love to receive encouragement, affirmation or approval, but for whatever reason, they simply won’t give it. Sometimes, God won’t let them give it to you so you will get it from him alone.
SET your mind (Col 3:2)
FIX your eyes (Hebrews 12:2)
GUARD your heart (Proverbs 4:23)
LIFT up your hands (Psalm 63:4)
RESTRAIN your feet (Psalm 119:101)
STAND firm (Ephesians 6:13)
HOLD your tongue (Proverbs 10:19)
INCLINE your ear (Isaiah 55:3)
We do our part. God does his.
Jesus has not brought you all this way to drop you. He will not leave you aimless or answerless. He knows what he’s doing. He knows where he’s taking you. You will have what you need when you need it. Not when you want it perhaps. But when you need it. This test is about trust.
Sometimes you just gotta say it out loud; “I rebuke that thought, Satan. It is a lie from the pit of hell.”
Then, replace the lie with the truth from the word of God.
Repeat this process as often as you need to.
Don’t believe everything you think.
