Incredibly sad to hear J G Windows in Newcastle has closed. A Tyneside musical icon, along with The City Hall, Mayfair, The Club a'Gogo... Its almost philanthropic approach to many of the region's performers and our culture was unique. The region lost a bit of its heart today.

We’ve enjoyed the company of a large mixed group of Chaffinches and Bramblings. Up to 12 Bramblings in one sitting and similar number of Chaffinches. Also a couple of Redpolls regularly visiting. Quite the bumper year! @_BTO @BTO_GBW @Natures_Voice @NTBirdClub

We’ve had a Siskin invasion in our garden in Hexham. Swarms of them and they’ve now ventured up onto the soon to be paved terrace. Quite astonishing numbers daily. @_BTO @Natures_Voice @NTBirdClub
