Journalist writing about coders: "To the untrained eye, the code is just a jumbled mess of letters, numbers and symbols. But to a coder, each line is clear. She knows and understands every digit and dot in the same way a pianist would read a page of musical notes."
Actual Coder:
THIS IS BRILLIANT!!! Thanks @jensimmons I've been putting off using Grid and other new properties at work because we need to support older versions of IE but now I'm excited to carry on and give it a go! All devs should watch this 🎉
But Jen, you might be saying. I don't have time. I don't know what you are talking about. I tried that before and it's stupid. CSS is too hard. It's stupid. CSS is too easy. It's too stupid.
I hear you.
I made you a present: https://t.co/4XxEDiXdj8
Just watch the videos.
@bendhalpern@ThePracticalDev Nothing to be embarrassed about, it’s so awesome, yet when trying to explain it to a colleague this week couldn’t explain exactly why. Everyone should just try it 🤗
@JacksonBates I had the same thing this week! But with just moving from my desk into the kitchen, the change of scenery snapped me into a new way of thinking. Can still be hard to force myself to actually move when stuck on a problem though
@dApp_boi@riklomas Which one would you recommend for improving overall css and js, I’m looking for ways to take my front-end dev up a notch. And any other resources you recommend?
Inspired to experiment with CSS more after seeing @Mandy_Kerr’s animated text examples. Animated grass text with just CSS is 🤯Especially intrigued to play around with variable fonts @viewsourceconf
"While many of you view disruption as an innovative product or service, my aim is to disrupt your thinking, to challenge the status quo, and to #causeascene." - @KimCrayton1 at #ViewSource
Brilliant conference @viewsourceconf so far, highlights have been seeing my code hero @saronyitbarek talk in person about cultivating supportive environments and @HenriHelvetica with some good tips and apis on measuring web performance. Plus top jokes
