We repeat, we have never “set out with an intent to march near synagogues” or "repeatedly ask to do such things" and we ask again that the Met Commissioner @metpoliceuk retract this defamatory and scurrilous accusation
@John_Barach@RansomStoddard1 Yes, worked for me - a first read through with short pauses for meaning. Language was foreign at first but we became used to it quite quickly. Successive read throughs improved the flow & understanding; themes & meanings explored; then a play/film.
I liked/like Shakespeare
I have had another horrible realisation. It suddenly made sense of *loads* of things about the effects of covid infection itself, but it also made massive sense of why public health is missing what's going on.
🧵🙏
Tesco got caught lying about food waste by 27 percentage points - and you paid higher prices for their "sustainability" fraud. But the scandal goes deeper: they're binning perfectly good British produce while charging you £1 billion to cover it. Here's what the supermarkets don't want you to know.
🚨 TESCO CAUGHT RED-HANDED (2024):
→ Claimed 45% waste reduction in sustainability reports
→ Late 2023 audit exposed the truth: only 18% reduction
→ 27 percentage point LIE to consumers
→ Tens of thousands of tonnes sent to "animal feed" actually went to energy recovery
→ Scandal broke January-February 2024, Tesco fired contractor
→ NO PENALTIES. NO REFUNDS. They just moved on.
→ You paid higher prices for "sustainability" they never delivered
🗑️ THE WASTE SCANDAL COSTING YOU MONEY:
→ UK supermarkets bin 100,000 tonnes of EDIBLE food annually (250 million meals)
→ £1 BILLION cost built into YOUR shopping prices
→ 20-40% of British farm produce rejected for "cosmetic reasons" (perfectly safe to eat)
→ Top 10 chains donate less than 9% of consumable surplus
→ Tesco donates 13.7% (bins 86 out of every 100 edible items)
→ Sainsbury's donates 3.8% (bins 96 out of every 100)
→ Iceland donates 1.7% (bins 98 out of every 100)
💔 THE CHARITY DUMPING SCANDAL (March 2025):
→ Foodrise "Used By" Report: 91% of food aid workers had to DISCARD business donations
→ Supermarkets dump inedible, damaged, expired food on charities
→ Charities pay £££ to dispose of supermarket rubbish
→ Supermarkets claim "redistribution" credit in reports and get TAX BREAKS
→ Food banks get rotten stock while perfectly good British produce gets binned
🌾 BRITISH FARMER PERSPECTIVE:
→ farmers grow food that gets rejected for not looking "perfect"
→ Wonky carrots, slightly marked apples, potatoes that aren't round enough
→ Perfectly safe, perfectly edible - REJECTED for appearance
→ I can't afford to waste - every crop matters
→ Supermarkets build waste into their business model and YOU pay for it
💰 WHO PROFITS FROM YOUR HIGHER PRICES:
→ Supermarkets build waste costs into EVERY item you buy
→ That loaf of bread costs 20p MORE to cover their waste
→ They get tax breaks for "donations" (even unusable rubbish)
→ PR value from "fighting food waste" campaigns (while binning 91%)
→ Tesco lied by 27 points - NO PENALTIES, NO CONSEQUENCES
→ March 2025 legislation has enforcement LOOPHOLES
⚠️ THE TRUTH THEY'RE HIDING:
→ They reject British produce for cosmetic reasons
→ They bin 91% of what reaches stores
→ They dump rotten food on charities and claim credit
→ They lie about waste reduction in sustainability reports
→ They charge YOU £1 billion to cover it all
→ British farmers are held to higher standards while supermarkets waste with impunity

We finally have a shot at criminalising lying in politics…
And you can help.
I spoke at an event this week where the room voted almost unanimously that MPs & Lords must be covered by the new offence of Misleading the Public
Imagine if this went though
Imagine the world of pain this would save us if it become law
And this is where we need your help to make this happen…
Have Keir Starmer and Shabana Mahmood created a secret police state?
Eight activists from Palestine Action are currently being held in prolonged pre-trial detention under conditions that many human rights observers are calling harsh and excessive
These individuals have reportedly been on a hunger strike for several weeks to protest the conditions of their detention and the apparent lack of due process
Despite the seriousness of the situation, mainstream media outlets - including the BBC, ITV, Sky News, 5 News, and even Channel 4 News - have so far ignored or underreported their plight
Coverage from alternative or independent media has highlighted the activists’ claims that their detention is politically motivated, given the highly sensitive nature of their protests against arms manufacturers and military supply chains
Questions now arise about the role of the Home Office and the Crown Prosecution Service, and whether there is a wider political influence at play
Keir Starmer, the current Labour leader and former Director of Public Prosecutions, along with Labour MP Shabana Mahmood, has been accused by some commentators of endorsing policies or legal frameworks that make prolonged pre-trial imprisonment easier, particularly in cases framed around politically sensitive activism
This situation raises urgent concerns about civil liberties in the UK, the treatment of political activists, and whether there is a systemic bias in how certain protests are policed and prosecuted
If mainstream media continues to ignore this story, the public remains unaware of potential abuses of power and the growing erosion of basic rights.
Key questions:
❓Why are these activists being held for so long before trial?
❓ Are there political pressures influencing the legal process?
❓ Why has there been little to no mainstream media coverage?
❓ What does this say about freedom of protest in the UK today?
I had pegged the Conservatives under Johnson/Truss/Sunak for trashing civil liberties in the UK, I had never thought it would be a Labour government doing so
We are meant to be fighting fascism, not replicating it
Silencing peaceful protestors, detaining them for weeks without trial, and ignoring their human rights undercuts the very principles we claim to defend
Let’s be clear: we don’t have to agree with their methods. But if they are guilty, prosecute and jail them fairly. Indefinite pre-trial detention without proper process is unacceptable
Shame on Labour
This post responds to Helen Whately’s false claims about the Motability Scheme made on Sky News.
Summary: Helen Whately’s comments about Motability and disability benefits were factually wrong, deliberately stigmatising, and Sky News allowed every lie to go unchallenged. Disabled people deserve truth, not scapegoating.
LIAR.
Nothing Helen Whately MP said about benefits or the Motability Scheme was true.
Not one sentence.
And Trevor Phillips letting those lies slide is Sky News being complicit in normalising disability hate.
This is the pattern we keep seeing:
Invent a story → blame disabled people → distract from political failure.
It is discrimination, and it is deliberate.
1. Whately claimed:
“Millions are getting benefits for anxiety and ADHD, along with a free Motability car.”
Reality:
There are not “millions” with a Motability car.
The scheme supports around 815,000 people across all disability benefits.
Only 593,700 PIP claimants use Motability.
You cannot turn that into “millions”.
And there is no such thing as a free car.
We give up our entire mobility component of PIP/DLA to lease a vehicle — and many of us pay thousands in adaptations and advance payments.
2. Whately claimed:
“It is absurd that in parts of the country one in three new cars come from Motability.”
“The system hands out new vehicles for low level mental health conditions or tennis elbow.”
Her language, “hands out”, “low level”, “tennis elbow”, is designed to ridicule and dehumanise.
Reality:
• The “one in three” figure applies to Wales, where disability rates are higher and public transport is worse.
• Across England and Wales combined, it is closer to 16%.
And again:
Motability does not hand anything out.
It is a lease disabled people pay for using their benefits and often their own money.
As a disabled woman who cannot rely on public transport, I know how essential adapted cars are to independence.
We are not props in her culture war.
3. Whately claimed:
“The scheme has stretched beyond what it was meant for, it was designed for the seriously disabled.”
Reality:
This is false.
Motability has always included anyone who qualifies for the higher mobility rate of PIP/DLA, including people with:
• physical impairments
• sensory impairments
• neurodivergence
• mental illness
• fluctuating or invisible disabilities
There is no such category in PIP as “low level mental health”.
She invented it to justify hostility.
Calling ADHD, bipolar, PTSD, autistic burnout or severe anxiety “low level” erases the lived reality of millions of disabled people.
What the DWP data actually shows
• 174,700 Motability users have a primary psychiatric condition, about 29%, not everyone.
• Only 10,400 have ADHD.
• Many have severe, enduring and complex disabilities.
This isn’t “mild anxiety and free cars”.
It’s a politician punching down on disabled people.
Why this matters
Disabled people especially those with invisible impairments, mental distress and neurodivergence are already:
• denied accessible transport
• accused of faking
• shouted at in public
• abused online
• victims of hate crime
• navigating cuts and gatekeeping
• blamed for problems they did not cause
Whately’s messaging adds fuel.
Sky News amplifying it without challenge legitimises it.
Every time these lies circulate, another disabled person becomes a target.
CALL TO ACTION
If we want to stop this hostility escalating, we must challenge ableist narratives wherever they appear, calmly, factually, collectively.
How you can help:
Like (not “angry react”) to boost reach in the algorithm
Share posts that centre disabled voices
Comment to increase visibility
Support disability-led organisations
Write to your MP demanding they challenge misinformation
Be intersectional, ableism rarely exists alone; it intersects with racism, classism, sexism and xenophobia
Silence enables hate.
Visibility disrupts it.
Then comes the bit that should make every NHS worker and patient furious...
Hallett has already said clearly:
Covid is an airborne disease. Her experts backed this up again and again.
Yet DHSC and infection control manuals are *still* clinging to droplet/contact myths!

Really pleased to see more councils join the @mariecurieuk campaign.
When we were the first in the country to start doing it- we were overwhelmed by the response.
So good to see @SalfordCouncil do this & hope more join the growing numbers of councils doing the right thing
Nearly there!

UNLAWFUL ARREST
This woman was arrested for holding a sign with “I do not support the proscription of Palestine Action” on it, a totally lawful statement to make, even under the Labour government’s absurd new laws proscribing the direct action group.

“We are 3-4 days from Palestine. The ship Conscience has joined our flotilla. Since I filmed the video, Israeli planes have started circling over our flotilla. It feels incredibly unsafe.”
“Thank you to all of you who are keeping an eye on the flotilla & sharing our content”
Dear @Keir_Starmer,
It’s been over 24 hours since 13 British citizens were abducted by Israeli forces in international waters.
We have still not heard a SINGLE WORD from you. When will you publicly condemn this violation of international law?
Regards,
A British citizen
