MESSAGE
I wholeheartedly endorse the powerful appeal for peace made by the Holy Father, Pope Leo, during his Palm Sunday Mass. His call for the laying down of arms and the renunciation of violence resonated profoundly with me, as it speaks to the very essence of what all major religions teach.
Indeed, whether we look to Christianity, Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism, Judaism or any of the world's great spiritual traditions, the message is fundamentally the same: love, compassion, tolerance, and self-discipline. Violence finds no true home in any of these teachings. History has shown us time and again that violence only begets more violence and is never a lasting foundation for peace.
An enduring resolution to conflict, including the ones we see in the Middle East or between Russia and Ukraine, must be rooted in dialogue, diplomacy and mutual respect โ approached with the understanding that, at the deepest level, we are all brothers and sisters.
I urge for and pray that the violence and conflicts may soon come to an end.

Tonight at Walmart, I watched a 5 year old boy ask a little girl if he could hug her because he liked her sweater.
She said, "No."
He smiled, "Okay! I like your sweater. Bye!" and ran back to his dad.
To his dad, he proudly said:
"I didn't hug her because she said no... but I told her I liked her sweater!"
His dad replied, "Cool, buddy!"
'...and they
went on shopping.
If a 5-year-old boy can understand consent and respect a "No," then so can every adult.
I manage a coffee shop. Yesterday, a guy came in for an interview. He was homeless. I could smell it before I saw him. His shirt was stained, his hair was matted, but he had shaved his face clean. He handed me a resume that was wet at the corners. "I'm a hard worker," he said. "I just need a chance. I can wash dishes. I can take out trash. I'll stay in the back." Customers were staring. My boss (the owner) walked out. He looked at the guy. "We don't have a dishwasher position," my boss said. The guy's shoulders slumped. He nodded and turned to leave. "We have a Front of House Manager position," my boss continued. The guy stopped. "Sir, look at me. I can't be in the front." "Not in that shirt, you can't," my boss said. "Go next door to the department store. Buy a shirt, a tie, and some slacks. Put it on my tab. Then come back here and start training. You have kind eyes. I can teach you to make coffee. I can't teach kindness." That was six months ago. That "homeless guy" is now our best employee. He knows every regular's name. Heโs not homeless anymore. Sometimes people donโt need a handout. They need a uniform and a belief that they belong in it.

@envidreamz I'm in my 50s and my blood pressure shot up after covid too but after about a year it went back down to just a bit higher than my normal. Without me taking anything. I hope yours eventually goes back down.
we have normalised overconsumption. listening to a podcast while we walk, scrolling reels in the toilet, listening to music while we cook, watching a show on Netflix while we eat. itโs as if there is NO breathing space for your mind. youโre constantly trying to fill the void, the stillness and yet here youโre complaining about feeling groggy and demotivated.
