“Teach like it’s your kid in the front row.”
How you teach changes. How you lead changes. Every interaction becomes more meaningful. How we respond when kids are successful or fail becomes more important.
Everything changes.
It becomes more impactful because it’s personal.
No department of education…. Does this mean no more state testing? Wonder if all that money used for testing will HAVE to be spent on school budgets now?!?!
Nine students absent is such a double-edged sword as a teacher
Sooooooooo much easier to teach 27 students instead of 36
But tomorrow when I have to catch a fourth of the class up? I’ll pay for today. Big time
Students cannot be allowed to act however they want in classrooms.
There must be accountability for actions. We are not preparing students for the workforce if they are allowed to be disrespectful in classrooms.
This is also true at home. Parents must be parents.
@MrDanielBuck So… I teach fifth. I probably am not two grade levels above. I’ve tried- phew. However, I’m an expert at some fifth/elementary math. I do have my masters, passed my GRE…
@AMAZlNGNATURE I would not… because 1. I wouldn’t know the internal damages to the deer. Would he die eventually? Would he be in pain? 2. It’s a part of the food chain. Would I feel awful- yes. But my main reason would be #1.
@MrDanielBuck Common core isn’t the problem taking away play and administering so many tests… along with inappropriate standard expectations- those are the problems. IMO, obviously.
