@GraySandwitch This is definitely not to say if you're experiencing something traumatic you should aim to stay in situation. I think there's an attitude that once a horrible event has ended, going back to how things were is easy when it actually takes a lot of time, assistance, and patience.
@GraySandwitch I feel the same, but then I remember that we had a traumatic past year. I don't know how much there is to back this, but I heard it's much more intuitive for humans to adapt to a traumatic situation in the moment than it is to go "back to normal" after.

You got this!
We are finally getting close to being done with the major overhaul of our condo. Besides my childhood bedroom I haven't lived anywhere where I could choose the paint colors but now I live in a place where every room is a different bold color and I am so in love π
One of the best things to come out of WFH for me has been having my dogs nearby. Boosts my mood all day, helps me feel calmer in high stress situations, and makes most students smile when Iβm on camera and they enter the frame
@GraySandwitch He had an air conditioner shipped from them once because no one else sold the one he wanted and it's Midwestern lore had captivated him ever since
My parents are going to be visiting us from California and my dad just told me that he would like to visit a Menards "just to see one," and if that isn't the daddest thing of dads
@angela3691 I sometimes use the pomodoro method, which is a tactic usually recommended for ADHD, but I find it helpful for my anxiety as well. If I know I only have to devote 25 min of energy to doing a tough task before I get a short break I feel less stressed and make better use of my time
I just recorded some instruction videos on very minimal sleep, and they are the most relaxed a least rambling recordings I have ever done in the fewest amount of takes.
*sigh*
When you find a solution that is also a problem...
I have an upcoming task where I have to drive by myself into the city into an unfamiliar area for the first time in AWHILE. To ease my anxiety, my partner suggested we drive down there to run errands so I can do a practice run and I just love him so much.
