@Girishbdwj Good question. Have you checked election affidavits of BJP candidates in Karnataka, & person who is based out of BLR but contested from Kerala? Are all of his busienss interests - in cable and satellite TV, ownership via his PE firm, investments in resorts disclosed? Mirror?
@Tejasvi_Surya - First address the inconvenience of the re-examination itself for all candidates across the country. Why were rules tweaked to accommodate a firm already blacklisted in a state? Where & how is the concerned minister taking responsibility? Address core issue first.
The inconvenience caused to NEET students today is not an isolated incident. It is a symptom of a larger problem that affects lakhs of Bengalureans throughout the year.
Roads are routinely blocked for political rallies, birthday celebrations of politicians, religious processions, local festivals, orchestra programs and community events. Often, these disruptions are imposed on the public with little notice, minimal regulation and no consideration for the daily lives of ordinary citizens.
The people who pay the price are office-goers trying to get to work, students appearing for examinations, parents taking children to school, patients rushing to hospitals, and countless others simply trying to go about their day. A few hours of road closure can throw an entire part of the city into chaos, causing stress, lost productivity and avoidable hardship.
A modern city cannot function this way. Public roads exist primarily for public movement. Any restriction on them must be rare, justified and tightly regulated. Bengaluru needs a clear policy governing road closures, with strict permissions, advance public notice, traffic management plans and accountability for violations.
If cultural, religious or community events require public spaces, the Government should create designated venues and earmark specific days, such as selected Sundays, where such activities can be conducted without disrupting the lives of millions.
Cities are built for people to move, work, study and live with dignity. The convenience of a few cannot come at the cost of the inconvenience of everyone else.
The Karnataka Government must treat this as a governance issue and bring in a comprehensive policy to regulate road closures across Bengaluru.

Freshly laid asphalt on MG Road was dug up by Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) workers on Wednesday, just weeks after the stretch had been resurfaced, triggering criticism over the lack of coordination between civic agencies.
BWSSB officials, however, defended the work, saying the city corporation had asphalted over a manhole cover during resurfacing work.

For many Bengalureans like me, especially 90s kids, growing up meant growing up with Bookworm. In many ways, the store turned many children into actual bookworms.
It was here that most of us discovered Enid Blyton, Jeffrey Archer, P. G. Wodehouse, Hardy Boys, Nancy Drew, and wonderful Kannada writers like Poornachandra Tejaswi, Anupama Hoskote, Sumathindra Nadig and many others.
I have fond memories of coming here, buying books, and often simply sitting inside for hours reading, sometimes even going back without buying one after spending an entire afternoon in the store.
Shri Krishna, the owner, has always been a warm and affectionate presence, welcoming every reader with a smile and going out of his way to find the title or author you are looking for. The store also houses thousands of out-of-print books that are almost impossible to find anywhere else.
It was deeply distressing to see the store flooded in the recent rains, with so many books damaged. But it was equally heartening to see thousands of readers, book lovers, and loyal patrons come together to volunteer, help the staff protect the books, dry them, and stand by the store.
That is the true spirit of Bengaluru.
Today, I visited the store to thank them for their years of service and, as a fellow reader, to offer my support.
If you want to support places like this, take your children there. Help them cultivate the habit of reading physical books. Because reading in the classic way still has a joy that nothing else can replace.
@vasantshetty81 Folks don't even know the number of engg colleges that have shutdown in the South, or the number of seats that remained vacant in last 5Y. Sadly, most folks use mobile data to scroll on Insta and YT to watch reels. Fav pastime
@IDFCFIRSTBank - Why is your staff placing unauthorised inquiries on my CIBIL profile and impacting my score? Does RBI authorise you to misuse PAN numbers in your database so blatantly?
@palakshahjourno One Q - is the colo scam a closed chapter, or are the skeletons stuffed in the closet still? The firm that enabled illegal access went scott free and so did it's owners..
@BPCLimited - your bharatgas franchise at Ulsoor BLR seems always busy and unreachable even in an emergency situation. Even emergency helpline numbers aren't working
