Last day of Communicating with Data with @DebAtStat & @sastoudt. Definitely learned a lot about writing in statistics! will always remember the tips learned in class because numbers by themselves won’t be as powerful if you can’t express them precisely in words. #UCBStatWriting
When writing a paper for my statistics class, the most challenging obstacle was to phrase my language in a succinct yet informative way, without being overly repetitive. Taking a break for a few days from my paper and go back to it was useful in overcoming this problem.
What I learned about running through my statistics paper: though running performance does decrease as one ages, it stays about the same in their 30s-40s, and decreases more noticeably after entering the 50s. It’s never too late to get started!
Statistics can be powerful. In my biostatistics class PH150A I learned that people who nap more than an hour are about 30% more likely to die earlier, taking into confounding effects, in a 13 year study. @DebAtStat@sastoudt#UCBStatWriting
In my paper for communicating with data class taught by @DebAtStat and @sastoudt, I examined the results of a running contest, and I found that it’s never too late to start running, and I tell myself tomorrow is the new start. #UCBStatWriting
Being a double major in statistics and public health had always made me wonder how to improve the current health system with the help of statistics and big data. Happy thanksgiving day while I think about it just a bit more 🤣 @sastoudt@DebAtStat#UCBStatWriting
First Twitter about statistics! Very glad that I took this communicating with statistics class with Professor Nolan and Sara at UC Berkeley. Data science is definitely something I am interested in! @DebAtStat@sastoudt#UCBStatWriting#FirstStatsTweet https://t.co/X0oE1lwQEL
