@chris_spencer04@sean_the_sheep9@narindertweets@nw_nicholas Perhaps. But he’s far from alone in commenting. The world is awash with it. He is almost alone in being condemned for it though. He’s also not wrong - as attested by shared policy documents and serving and ex police officers.
@Neets21 It was an appalling thing to happen but not something that was influenced by institutionalised DEI policies and training. You’re conflating the actions of a psychopath with specific police instructions to treat ethnicities differently. This is a very stupid take.
@narindertweets@JustAGuyInNJ@BBC Righteous anger when George Floyd was killed - along with calls for fury, rage and riots. Now those same people are calling for calm and silence. The hypocrisy is as sickening as it is shameful.
@zarahussain999@ReubenFox9 But to negatively label whole groups of people is a) reductive to the point of stupidity b) polarising c) othering d) hypocritical - unless you also do so when people march or riot for anything - if you don’t, you’re simply displaying your own prejudice
A violent criminal is killed thousands of miles away and people call for riots, attacks on police and “taking the knee”.
A young boy is murdered here and dragged along the floor by police whilst dying - and those same people are telling others to be quiet about it.
Dicks.
@chris_spencer04@sean_the_sheep9@narindertweets@nw_nicholas “Poked his head out”. Millions of people are extremely upset about what happened and the circumstances that fed into it happening. Utterly bizarre that you think a democratically elected MP and political party leader should remain silent.
@chris_spencer04@narindertweets@nw_nicholas Why should he be silent?
What is the democratically elected MP and opposition party leader allowed to speak about? It’s THE national conversation- and you think he should be quiet? 🤦🏻♂️
I don’t think anyone should be quiet about this.
@narindertweets There wasn’t a Summer of race riots - unless you’re talking about BLM?
And there should be rage - at the societal context that allows a dying boy to be handcuffed and dragged along the floor -while his murderer was never even handcuffed - not at the time or later.
@narindertweets I almost always don’t agreee with you but on this issue, I do. Henry’s death was horrific. The killer needs to be dealt with. The police officers beed to be dealt with. But none of this is a reflection on our great Sikh communities.
