During slavery there was process called seasoning - a deliberate, systematic application of physical and psychological trauma designed to strip individuals of their identity, dignity, and independence. This usually involved severe deprivation even of food until the slave accepts his master. Eventually some slaves would begin to view their master as the reason they are alive. Access to what is supposed to be theirs becomes a favor. This is what Zimbabweans have gone through under ZANU PF & Mnangagwa.

They have been deprived of every kind of dignity from work, basics even the right to vote. A number have been broken. When they loot government coffers and sprinkle a few of crumbs, the broken view it as a favor.

2016, there was someone l knew who used to mock us, "politics munofira mahara" He used to package himself as the wise one. Then he had cholera. We ended up donating IVFs to Harare City Council.
