Terrace Martin compares Kendrick Lamar to both John Coltrane and Tupac Shakur, ultimately crowning Kendrick as “The King” — describing him as disciplined, kind, and quiet, but with a reckless side where he doesn’t care.
“He’s always quiet …rapping all day and very kind …but he from Westside Compton ...you saw what he did to the boy …everybody thought that boy was on a God pedestal”

JAŸ-Z is right about stan culture getting out of control, but that’s not a reason to abandon Hip Hop’s core elements. Not that I give a fuck because this is the internet, but I know firsthand what it’s like to be attacked over my physical appearance, people trying to dox me, sending me death threats in my email, instead of people proving me wrong.
The real issue is accountability! Niggas need to take accountability for the things that they do and the issues they put into the universe but instead, we’re watching two HALF WHITES (y’all got mad when I said it yesterday so let’s say it again) rewrite battle rules in real time, while their parasocial fans harass, dox, and deflect.
Battle rap is the last core element standing. We don’t need less of the culture, we need to build those elements back up!
Jermaine and Aubrey keep doing this thing where they claim they love Hip Hop, that they study it front to back, yet they ignore or try to sidestep its core elements. They want to be called the greatest without proving it. Like we’re just supposed to echo it because they said it. That’s not how this works. Nobody’s saying you have to engage in every core element, but stop puffing your chest out like you’re really like that when you clearly aren’t.
I just been sitting back watching & here’s my issue. All these people been talking so much shit about Kendrick for the past year. Going on podcasts & interviews constantly speaking on his name.
▫️DJ Vlad asks every single person he interviews a million questions about Kendrick.
▫️Shannon Sharpe asks every single person he interviews about Kendrick. ▫️Ray Daniels talk about Kendrick every episode.
▫️Adam 22 makes it his life’s mission to interview every single person he can find that wants to shit on Kendrick on his podcast.
▫️The Game talks, shits, & eats Kendrick.
▫️Fat Joe hates on Kendrick everyday that ends in Y.
▫️Issac Hayes hating on Kendrick’s Grammys wins.
▫️Joe Budden and the old heads podcast was hating on GNX & Kendrick saying he wins too much. He should let someone else win.
▫️Michael Dyson hating on Kendrick saying he stripped Drake of his blackness because he don’t understand the bars in NLU.
▫️Publications like Complex, Rolling Stone, & Pitchfork praying for his downfall and publishing articles saying the battle Drake provoked that’s somehow Kendrick’s fault ruined Hip Hop.
▫️Billboard making new rules so Luther can fall off the charts so they can publish an article a week later saying Hip Hop as a whole fell off the charts.
But THE MOMENT KENDRICK RESPONDS TO ALL THIS HATE……he’s the VILLAIN. The nigga ain’t said shit. Not one word but the minute he defends himself the colorism will display its ugly head because for some reason a DARK SKINNED NIGGA shouldn’t take up for himself after being villainized for a year straight. Mmm hmmm I see you mofos
Kendrick gave us him over a trap-Esq beat in Good Credit, then barred the fuck up on his Grammy award winning verse Chains & Whips and then went sexy/playful on Good Flirts. Come on range! 10/10. No notes!
NBC announced that Sunday’s Super Bowl between the Patriots and Seahawks averaged 124.9 million viewers, making it the second-most-watched Super Bowl ever, behind last year’s Chiefs-Eagles game.
