BREAKING: The Chair of Ontario's Species Conservation Agency resigns in protest over @fordnation attacks on Ontario farms, forests, wetlands and livability. Thanks to @dougrvarty for standing up for our future. #HandsOffTheGreenbelt#repealbill23
Canadians are being price gouged by Big Telecoms.
Telus profits this year — $1.45 billion.
That's up $418 million compared to last year.
We need to break up the telecoms monopoly in this country.
Enough greed.
Disturbing: New documents show that at a time when ERs are closing, pediatric surgeries are being canceled and our healthcare system is in crisis…the Ontario government wants to cut healthcare staffing, to save money.
Horrific.
I spoke with national union leaders this morning about the Ontario government’s inappropriate preemptive use of the notwithstanding clause, which undermines the fundamental rights and freedoms of workers. Our government stands firmly with our country’s workers.
The Ontario government says it has no choice but to pass a bill preventing a strike, because kids need to be in school so they can grow up, get jobs, and have their Charter rights taken away.
I spoke with Premier @FordNation today. I emphasized the importance of standing up for Canadians’ rights and freedoms, including workers’ rights – and I reiterated that the preemptive use of the notwithstanding clause is wrong and inappropriate.
So let me get this straight: New data shows that the rate of unfilled hospital nursing positions has TRIPLED since 2020 & the Ontario government STILL won't admit our healthcare system is in crisis?
Improve working conditions. Repeal Bill 124. Pay nurses what they deserve.
Today in Parliament, Pierre Poilievre tried to block dental care for children.
But he failed.
You and I — we won.
Mr. Poilievre has enjoyed dental care paid by taxpayers for nearly 20 years — but he doesn't believe your children deserve the same.
It's callous and it's wrong.
BREAKING: Metro's response to Loblaw's price freeze:
"It is an industry practice to have a price freeze from Nov. 1 to Feb. 5 for all private labelled and national branded grocery products and this will be the case in all of METRO banners."
This is what collusion looks like...
@helenbnichols Totally! My mom did this every year. She made sure that the person who’s birthday it was got the quarter. Everyone else got dimes. They were wrapped in tin foil!
Loblaws: Profits up $132 million
Metro: Profits up $49 million
Sobeys: Profits up $47 million
Food prices — shocker — also up
Worker wages — adjusted for inflation — down
When I say let's investigate CEOs and corporate greed, this is what I mean
