@NMPsychologist@wolvercoteman@LockedUpLiving The AI support tools that I've seen demo'd all escalate serious issues to real-live therapists. How many people who can't afford therapists, or are afraid of therapists, are getting their first taste of support in this safe way? It could be the gateway for many.
@NMPsychologist@wolvercoteman@LockedUpLiving Lots of big issues here: are we saying only those who can afford therapy should get it? Of course not. Are there bad therapists who are worse than AI? Yes. Are therapists wasting time repeating themselves with low level support that AI can do just as well?
@WarrCriminology Or you can train your own opensource AI with the latest criminology methodology and research to provide invaluable information in the support of ex-offenders into positive outcomes. The choice is yours. I know which one we're choosing.
Check out my latest article: Training for Crisis, Minus the Chaos: How AI Could Help Social Support Teams #techforgood#socialsupport#ai https://t.co/i1GddDR0EI via @LinkedIn
While social support agencies dither, people in need are turning to #ai to deal with their #mentalhealth issues. Read my article on how social support agencies are missing out: https://t.co/8wGt1C8Oqj
@NMPsychologist AI tools can help people discover their emotional intelligence and empathy. In the right hands, itโs a powerful tool for good. By taking over mundane tasks, AI allows humans to focus on their humanity.
@NMPsychologist@theactivemag You might want to have a look at what WYSA are achieving with their mental health app. They provide a global free mental health service that is funded by those who can afford to pay. Amazing service that's doing a lot of good. https://t.co/4QL9Eh9SmB
@NMPsychologist@theactivemag There is huge potential for AI in supporting not only mental health, but also in niche support for people who are engaged with the criminal justice system. Of course, AI won't replace proper therapists, but it will augment ongoing therapy.
Thanks to everyone who attended @Clinks_Tweets All Wales Forum today. Some thought provoking comments and questions about what we're trying to achieve. Let's keep the conversation going! #TechForGood#prison#probation
@trashcart00@MemesKind We've found that each individual prison leaver has their own unique mix of issues that need support. Some people can't read, some can't communicate, and so on, which limit their ability to do anything, including find housing. Our support addresses everything unique to their needs
Imagine if #prison leavers designed a support service that meets their complex needs. Imagine an #AI trained by people with #livedexperience of the criminal justice system. That's exactly what we're doing at SherlockAI. https://t.co/jU9Z32oD3c
@trashcart00@MemesKind We're testing our support prototypes with the people you've mentioned. All they need to do is speak to the AI and listen to the response, like a normal conversation with people. We're removing the need to learn tech skills to gain the benefits of technology.
Using AI to help curb addictions is #TechForGood But for #prison leavers, this can be only one small part of the puzzle. We're creating AI companions to support people into all facets of a positive life.

We were honoured to be asked to present at the #MDSummit24 breakout session on how #Ai can support people. So many interesting thoughts to discuss. We'd love to carry on the conversation to build #TechForGood
PM breakouts are done and weโve talked everything from true power sharing and race equity to commissioning, operational approaches and AI to envision the models of the future #MDSummit24
Imagine if social support organisations and non-profits could help even more people for less cost? They can with #TechForGood#productivity#ai

OpenAI's questionable business practices are an opportunity for everyone to:
1) explore the many, many other AI options offered by not-for-profit organisations,
2) explore opensource AI models,
3) develop our own AI offerings that help people instead of exploiting them.
