The Bishops of England and Wales have been consistent and outspoken in their opposition to the legalisation of assisted suicide, and we are shocked and disappointed that MPs have voted in favour of the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill. https://t.co/tkgOBO1LH5
Huge day for MPs. It'll tell us a lot about the kind of society we want to be. No one wants anyone to suffer. We should 💯 invest in palliative care & make sure no one whose life is deemed 'less' should feel pressure to end it.

'The Gift of my Neighbour' was an exciting conference last month, organised by @ChurchesEngland, CBTI & The Society for Ecumenical Studies. This was an important discussion exploring the gifts of diaspora communities, amidst ongoing political conversation on contested migration!
“A wonderful evening of fellowship and deepening of relationships with Pentecostal, Charismatic and Orthodox leaders” - Bishop @_mikeroyal General Secretary, @ChurchesEngland

Sincere thanks to my dear brother and friend, Bishop @_MikeRoyal, and his team for carrying on this worthwhile initiative, started ten years ago at @CopticCentreUK.
A joy to be accompanied by our own @FrLambros22911.

The numbers don’t lie, and according to new research by Bible Society and YouGov the numbers are up, from 8% of adults in 2018 to 12% in 2024.
That means for every two people in England and Wales who went to church, back in 2018, there are now three.
That 50% growth figure is the overall average. Young adults in particular are attending church more than they have in a long time. Compared to 2018, four times as many under-25s attend church. And the percentage of young men in church has shot up from 4% to 21% far above the average.
As the old certainties crumble, the search for meaning intensifies. The numbers don’t lie.

The Terminally Ill Adults Bill does not adequately safeguard vulnerable women.
In this open letter, organised by us at Theos, over 100 leading women from different faiths and traditions unite in expressing safeguarding concerns over the current legislation on Assisted Dying.

This week, I've seen women from different religions, backgrounds, theologies & politics come together to put their names to this.
When faith groups talk about protecting the vulnerable, it isn’t “mere theology”, as some would dismiss it. @Theosthinktank
