The historic *speech* was given and we can conclude
1. Everyone who pretended to have inside knowledge about what will be said has in fact, lied.
2. The speech didn’t add clarity nor any insights - like I said: the speech will call for peace and stability (which is obvious given that the Turkish government allowed him to speak and approved of his messages).
That’s it 🤷🏻♀️
(That’s not it):
- It is actually needless to say as the AANES and the SDF are independet organisations: Commander in Chief of the SDF Mazlum Abdi has stated that what Öcalan said will have no impact on the AANES.
Should be obvious as the SDF is an Arab majority alliance..
- Öcalan calls for laying down arms and the dissolution of the PKK, as I said this is a lengthy process that will not happen overnight nor within the span of a year.
It’s a risky and complicated process that can be corrupted by any sort of minor hostility.
Turkey has to commit and provide guarantees for this to happen, otherwise it won’t.
Consider Öcalans statement as the *Greenlight* for the process to form the process of the peace process (we are far from an actual peace process)
- Wait for the PKK statement, remains to be seen what they will decide; as the PKK has already stated: conferences and meetings have to happen before a decision can be made to lay down arms (enter peace process)
No one wants war, therefore it is a good initiative
But! Turkey currently holds the power over the political process.
What Turkey has to do is issue general amnesties, release and reinstate the democratically elected Kurdish politicians, cease attacks on Kurdish regions and recognise the kurdish ethnicity.
If that doesn’t happen, this peace process will not be successful.

Today, on the 80th anniversary of International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we pause to remember the millions of lives lost to the horrors of the Holocaust. This tragedy serves as a solemn reminder of the consequences of hatred, prejudice, and inaction in the face of evil.
As the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria, we stand firm in our commitment to protecting human rights, defending diversity, and combating all forms of genocide and oppression. Together, we must build a world where such atrocities never happen again. #HolocaustRemembrance #NeverAgain
