Commendable bravery was displayed by Captain Jawad Qamar and his team in Kohat. Kudos to all the brave soldiers and police personnel who successfully eliminated the terrorists from the site and safeguarded Pakistan.

The federal government should consider these courageous personnel for gallantry awards in recognition of their bravery and sacrifice in defending the country.

I first met Jawad Qamar when he was serving as Chief of Staff to then-DG FIA Rai Tahir. He is a brilliant officer, exceptionally brave, and a thorough professional, with academic credentials from the London School of Economics and the University of Oxford.

He is also among Pakistan’s most decorated police officers and has been awarded the country’s second-highest gallantry award, the Quaid-e-Azam Police Medal, for his services in the fight against terrorism.
