The most expensive part of a hospital bill may never touch the hospital at all.

A patient admitted for care has no way of knowing whether the price on a medical consumable reflects its actual cost or a markup fixed long before it ever reached the ward. That gap in information is, at its core, a public health issue.

A survey of hospital consumables in Maharashtra found an IV infusion set with a trade price of ₹11.05 carrying a printed MRP of ₹325 ; a markup of 2,841%. A syringe procured at ₹6.75 carried an MRP of ₹57.20. A catheter procured at ₹29.41 carried an MRP of ₹310.

These are not elective purchases. Patients cannot compare prices, seek alternatives, or question a number printed on a box while receiving care and the MRP itself is often fixed upstream by manufacturers and distributors, disconnected from the trade price by a wide, unexplained margin. The result is a system where the party bearing the cost has the least information to evaluate it.

The regulatory gap is structural: scheduled medicines are capped under the Drugs (Prices Control) Order, 2013. Most medical devices and consumables are not leaving both the pricing and the information around it almost entirely unmonitored.

A review of these findings and clear guidelines on the permissible gap between trade procurement price and declared MRP have been recommended to the Department of Pharmaceuticals and the NPPA ; a step toward closing not just a pricing gap, but the information gap patients are left to bear alone.

As an artist, when you play a character, you try to bring it to life from the bottom of your heart. And here, I am truly impressed by the conviction with which the struggle of a powerful man has been portrayed.

Maybe the plot and driving characters are not on the usual track on which most films travel, but that doesn’t mean the track is wrong. The effort that goes into telling a story, and the journey it takes from being a thought in the mind to becoming a film on screen, is humongous.

@TheNameIsYash sir, hats off to the way you have surrendered yourself to a character and a world that demands a larger-than-life performance. I could clearly feel that in every single scene.

It’s not easy to give the audience an experience of how guilt multiplies and increases the toxicity in life. I stand with you for attempting this daring experiment, sir.

We love you for the love you have for taking Kannada cinema to the global stage.

Watching Toxic, everything was so smooth, action scenes so effortless, not in my dreams could I have thought of the hardwork that went behind the scenes.

Even JJ Perry who has worked on projects like John Wick praising Yash speaks a lot.

One can debate over a hundred things but Yash’s dedication was top notch and that shows in the action scenes that looked top class.

#Toxic hasn’t quite reached the business level that I expected from the film. There’s no point denying that the numbers so far are considerably below expectations, and perhaps it’s best to let the audience’s verdict speak for itself with grace…… BUT….

There is one silver lining it’s TOXIC Day 1 collection, power and superstardom of Yash in Hindi Heartland……

The reviews were already out by morning, and the audience knew what the word-of-mouth was. Yet, the opening remained strong. That says something significant, the love, respect and trust that audiences have for Yash is very much intact or else collection would have fallen from 2pm…..

Day 1 reflects the star pull. From Day 2 onwards, the audience decides the journey which has been already declared……

And I genuinely believe the audience will give Yash another opportunity. With #Ramayana Part 1 and Part 2 coming in next fourteen months, there is plenty to look forward to. If #Ramayan connects with the audience the way I hope it does, #Toxic will eventually become just another chapter in YASH much bigger journey.

It’s time for @TheNameIsYash to move from Toxic to Ramayan, and announce a new fresh massy pan India film for 2028……

I loved Dhurandhar-1, but The Revenge surpassed the original in both scale and soul.
The writing, casting, technical execution, music, world design and direction are flawless…. But it’s the emotional stakes that really ground it.

The writing manages to weave plot twists that create genuine tension charged with emotion. @AdityaDharFilms, you hit it out of the park. It takes guts to make and release a film 4 hours long. The audience is glued to the seat till the last frame. 🫡

@RanveerOfficial, what a performance man… The sequence with the sister in the shed is a masterclass in acting. From that beginning to the heart-wrenching climax, you mesmerized us both as Hamza and Jaskirat.
