Clippers’ in the last 6 months (not in order):

• Alienated franchise legend Chris Paul.

• Didn’t want to pay Harden so he requested a trade to Cleveland.

• Traded Zubac for 2 1sts, Mathurin, and Jackson.

• Lost Bennedict Mathurin for nothing.

• Spent $50M on the investigation to get fined $30M and get the harshest punishment in NBA history.

• Forfeited the 2029 1st (via IND) as part of the punishment.

• Lost their own 2030, 2031, 2032, and 2033.

• Drafted Keaton Wagler 5th overall.

• Willingly operated as a team over the cap. Didn’t want to renounce Mathurin’s $27M cap hold and Lopez’s contract to open up upwards of $31M of cap space.

• Could’ve given offers to guys like Watson or even Duren if they opened up ~$9M more of space.

• S&T’d John Collins to Detroit for a TPE that was later used on Max Strus. Also gave up a 2nd for Strus.

• Passed on Peyton Watson because they didn’t want to include a first-round pick for him.

• Passed on Jonathan Kuminga.

• Signed Rui Hachimura to a 2YR/$28M (TO).

• Re-signed Bradley Beal to $6.6M.

If Adam Silver really wanted to cook he’d combo one of the Clippers picks with the cash prize for the NBA Cup every year for the next 5 years, Clippers can go to war to try to get their picks back it’d be fun TV

[Dan Wetzel @DanWetzel]

BREAKING: The NBA has ruled on the Los Angeles Clippers in for salary cap circumvention investigations on Kawhi Leonard after yearlong probe -- stripping the franchise of 5 first-round picks, issuing a $30 million fine to owner Steve Ballmer and suspensions for Ballmer, Lawrence Frank and Gillian Zucker, sources tell ESPN.

Kawhi Leonard will have to pay $700,000 in restitution for improper benefits by the Clippers for his uncle and former business rep, Dennis Robertson. No contract void or suspension for Leonard. And Robertson -- who was fired by Leonard in June -- is being banned by the NBA from all business dealings.

The Aaron Donald stuff is great cause it's evidence they still bitch even if there's a cap.
