The first BRICS Sherpa/Sous-Sherpa Meeting commenced on 9 February in New Delhi.
Secretary (Economic Relations) and India’s BRICS Sherpa @SudhakarDalela highlighted key priorities of India’s Chairship based on PM’s vision for “people-centric” and “humanity-first” approach for the BRICS, and overall theme of ‘Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability’.
A year ago, during #OperationSindoor, our armed forces showcased their valour and gave a firm response to those who attacked our people. Every Indian is proud of our armed forces. As a mark of respect to our forces and their success during #OperationSindoor, let us all change our display pictures on social media, including X, Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp to the picture shared below.

At #WTOMC14, drawing inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi ji's philosophy of Truth prevailing over conformity, India showed the courage to stand alone on the contentious issue of the Investment Facilitation for Development (IFD) Agreement and did not agree to its incorporation into the WTO framework as an Annex 4 Agreement.
Incorporation of the IFD Agreement risks eroding the functional limits of the WTO and undermining its foundational principles.
As part of WTO reform discussions, Members are discussing guardrails and legal safeguards for plurilaterals before the integration of any specific plurilateral outcome. In view of the systemic issue at hand, India showed openness to have good faith, comprehensive discussions and constructive engagement under the WTO Reform Agenda.

Landed in Johannesburg for the G20 Summit related engagements. Look forward to productive discussions with world leaders on key global issues. Our focus will be on strengthening cooperation, advancing development priorities and ensuring a better future for all.
It was a gladdening and moving experience for me to witness a performance of the South African Girmitiya song ‘Ganga Maiya’ in Johannesburg. Another special part of this performance was the rendition in Tamil! This song carries with it hope and unbroken spirit of those who came here many years ago. They faced numerous hardships on the way but that did not deter them. They kept India alive in their hearts through songs and prayers. Thus, it is commendable to see this cultural connect kept alive.

Just 15 Indian cities contribute 30% of India’s GDP. These urban hubs alone– will drive India’s ability to become a 30 + trillion economy by 2047, facilitating an extra 1.5% of growth.
How can we unlock their full potential and position them on the world map?
Transforming these cities is an economic necessity. They will shape India’s growth, global image and drive India’s future prosperity. Without making them the finest cities in the world India will never become a 30+ trillion $ economy.
My Op-ed in today’s IE .

Honoured to present my book ‘How India Scaled Mt. G20’ to Prime Minister @narendramodi. It was his progressive vision, global stature, and inclusive leadership style that set both the agenda and the approach to one of the most transformative chapters in India’s diplomatic history. His unequivocal belief in the G20 India team enabled us to be bold and take risks through the seemingly impossible negotiations. I thanked him for his trust and guidance as his G20 Sherpa.
On Day 2 of G20 Sherpa meeting today, I highlighted the role of Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) solutions for efficient and inclusive development; importance of finance and technology for climate action and energy transition; biofuels, GH2 and critical minerals; and boosting international trade. @g20org
