END OF AN ERA 🕊️
With the passing of Yukiko Nikaido, the original voice of Fujiko Mine, all five principal voice actors from the 1971 Lupin the Third series main cast are now gone.
Nikaido passed away at the age of 87, with the news announced publicly by her family on July 17. She gave Fujiko her original television voice before the role was taken over by Eiko Masuyama in later installments.
The original cast included:
• Yasuo Yamada — Lupin III
Passed away in 1995 at the age of 62.
• Kiyoshi Kobayashi — Daisuke Jigen
Passed away in 2022 at the age of 89.
• Chikao Otsuka — Goemon Ishikawa XIII
Passed away in 2015 at the age of 85.
• Yukiko Nikaido — Fujiko Mine
Passed away in 2026 at the age of 87.
• Goro Naya — Inspector Zenigata
Passed away in 2013 at the age of 83.
Together, their voices helped establish the personalities, chemistry, humor, and style that turned Lupin the Third into one of anime’s longest-running and most influential franchises.
Though the original cast is no longer with us, their performances remain preserved through every chase, heist, betrayal, and unforgettable adventure from the classic series.
Rest in peace to the original voices of Lupin, Jigen, Goemon, Fujiko, and Zenigata. Their legendary era will never be forgotten. ❤️
Thank you all so much for the overwhelming amount of love for these sets ✨✨
I’m happy to share that these will be available for purchase on my shop on July 26th 🤩🌈🩵
