We held our final session of the Champions for Peace project with persons with disabilities. It was a insightful session, during which we gained a deeper understanding of the divisive issues they face and how these issues affect them.

Afterward, they worked in groups to discuss possible solutions to these challenges because the best interventions are those that are developed by the affected group themselves.

If you want to truly understand someone's issues, involve them in the conversation. It is only through involvement and engagement that we grasp the depth of their issues.

Following the initial exploratory workshop of the Champions for Peace Project with community leaders, we identified several target groups affected by divisive issues & launched phase two with a workshop with the youths - one of the target groups.
Additionally, we examined whether these issues are consistent with those experienced during the 2022 election period.

We are delighted to be implementing a Champions for Peace Project, which seeks to explore how polarization is manifesting across different regions in Kenya and find ways to address it to prevent violent conflict.
Phase One is now complete! We conducted an exploratory workshop with community leaders to identify the most pressing and divisive issues they face, and to understand which groups are most affected by these issues.
