NYC MYA sneaked a price increase onto New Yorkers.
Let’s dive in some math:
Price for an unlimited monthly metro card is $132. The metro card is quickly being phased out and fully replaced with an OMNY card my the end of 2025.

OMNY card charges per ride up to 12 rides with each ride costing $2.90
So $2.90 x 12 = $34.80 per week
Google says there are 4.286 weeks in a 30 day period which is the equivalent time period of a monthly metro card.
So OMNY costs for 30 days are $34.80 x 4.286 =$149.15
