Let’s all be praying for the Scruggs family.
They lost their beloved little girl, Hallie in this act of pure evil.
Having lost a son, I know they are in unimaginable pain right now.
I know there are so many “Why” questions.
After our son died, Pastor Chuck Smith said to me, “Never trade what you do know for what you don’t know”. Here is what we do know-
God loves this Christian family.
Little Hallie Scruggs is in Heaven right now.
They will all be reunited one day.
Hallie is not just a part of their past, she is also a part of their future.
May God comfort this family as only He can today.
Let’s also be praying for the families of the five others who lost loved ones.
@GeraCarrillo6@greglaurie It's not about those being called characters. It's about those who need to know God, and them understanding that people in the Bible are real people.
@GeraCarrillo6@greglaurie I have now read that, but here's the thing. Someone bent towards not believing the Bible is real will (likely) not look into it as you have suggested and I have done. If Christians refer to ppl as “characters”, we leave non-believers at higher risk of not believing!
@greglaurie I'm not trying to sound arrogant or be critical. I just know many folks are confused, and words are important. The less confusion, the better. I'm also not a Biblical scholar. I'm just a dude trying to know Jesus better.
@greglaurie The problem I see with “character” is that it makes them less real, or non-human. If we are to convey to non-believers that the Bible is real (from Genesis to Revelation) then we should do our best to make them as real as possible.
