Before we part our lips to speak, let's pause & ask ourselves this question: Are my words kind, necessary, & true?
That doesn't mean we can't address hard issues with one another. But it does mean we need to do so with a spirit of kindness using words that are necessary & true.
Tonight, instead of feeling guilty for who you’re not, I pray God will help you celebrate who you are.
Dear Lord, You made me in Your image & that's something I seem to forget daily. Help me remember to celebrate & live in who You made me to be & not in what I wish I was. Amen.
We don't have to let our mood (or spiritual maturity) rise and fall on the unpredictable behaviors and attitudes of others. With the fullness of God in us, we are free to let humans be humans - fickle and fragile and forgetful.
"I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.'” Psalm 91:2
Truth I've been keeping on repeat. Truth you may need to remind your own heart of tonight, as well.
