* They do not test for completeness and reasonability.
* They do not categorize the expenses properly.
* They do not separate business money and owner's money
Expenses must be put in categories so you can generate reports of expenses.
As a business owner constantly wondering where your money went to or what you spent on, this is your cue to diligently track your expenses.
Expenses are outflow of money. Money spent to run a business, a project or a personal life.
There are 2 ways that money is spent from:
1. From Bank
2. From Cash
Both must be tracked.
Common mistakes businesses make when tracking expenses are:
* They do not track where the money was spent from.
* They do not track all elements relating to the spending.

I started yesterday and I've now read about half of the book THE PSYCHOLOGY OF MONEY.
Chapter 13, "Room For Error" is something everybody should read.
It is something that has helped me as a person as well as in my role as a Project Manager.
Bottomline: Mistakes happen, what matters most is how you handle them.
Accuracy matters but accountability builds trust.

As a data entry officer, I realised that mistakes can happen. It may come as a data inputted wrongly or not inputted at all.
What do you do when you spot such errors:
1. Stay Calm & Assess: Donโt panic. Review the entry and understand the error.
5. Communicate: Inform relevant stakeholders or supervisors if the mistake impacts reports or decisions.
6. Review & Prevent: Analyze why the mistake happened and adjust your process to avoid a repeat.
